Goodwill of Colorado is seeking candidates with production experience (e.g., retail, restaurant, hospitality, production or similar industries) as well as cash handling experience to become our Retail Generalist Associates. Our Retail Centers are open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sundays. Pay: $17.15 Hr. This position is eligible for Daily Pay. Full Time employees in our Retail, Sales/Operations, Commercial Contracts are eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. These positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, jury duty and bereavement leave. Goodwill of Colorado is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) eligible employer. JOB SUMMARY: The Associate II, Retail Generalist will have knowledge in retail products, merchandising, pricing, and quality inspection. Acting as a back-up for all areas within the Retail Store, the Retail Generalist may perform multiple tasks in different departments on any given day. Tasks include donation receiving, material handling, processing hardline and softline goods, working the sales floor, and operating cash registers. The Retail Generalist will work both in a production environment and on the sales floor. The role involves contact with customers and providing excellent customer service with an "Attitude of Gratitude" in support of the organization’s mission. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Crosstrain in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required. Work closely with department supervisors to determine areas that are short-handed or in meeting store goals. Accept donations from customers, including loading/unloading of product, ensuring care and respect for the item and donor. Sort and inspect donated items, decide on quality and value, price accordingly, and research value as necessary. Operate equipment to move and store donated product (pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly, etc.). Ensure the sales floor is well stocked according to store policies and procedures. Provide accurate cashier transactions and balance the cash drawer with minimal errors using a POS system. Assist customers with product questions and provide excellent customer service. Keep production and sales floor areas organized, stocked, and clean to support store presentation and shop-ability. Process E-Commerce products accurately and efficiently. Rotate/pull old or unsold products to keep the selection fresh. Contribute to a safe working environment for customers and coworkers. Job duties may extend beyond listed tasks and may include additional responsibilities as required. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience: One (1) year of experience in retail, product placement, or merchandising is desired. One (1) year of cash handling preferred. Other: High attention to detail and ability to make decisions. Able to adapt to frequently changing schedules and tasks. Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through On the Job documentation. Able to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification to operate equipment safely. Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day. Able to lift up to 75 lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack as required. Able to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification to safely operate equipment. Able to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime. Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
