The candidate should have the knowledge and education to perform electronic troubleshooting and repair of electronic assemblies and subassemblies by removing and replacing circuit components, either through hole or surface mount. Excellent soldering skills are required. The candidate must be flexible to work overtime, be a team player, maintain a positive attitude, and be willing to take on additional tasks as needed.
Compensation:
The hourly rate ranges from $30.66 to $33.88. Final compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, experience, education, and location. Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents, and to use precision measuring tools. Proficient in operating all departmental tools and equipment, including glass bead and carboblast machines. Basic understanding of shop math is necessary. At least 2 years of related experience in areas such as sheet metal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, troubleshooting electrical systems, battery servicing, or APU maintenance. Position Purpose:
Under moderate supervision, repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components following Gulfstream Repair Station standards. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Apply basic to advanced skills using appropriate procedures, techniques, tools, and materials. Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies, including removal, repair, or replacement of defective parts, following blueprints, manuals, and engineering instructions. Set up and operate test equipment to perform functional and operational tests on aircraft components. Inspect parts to ensure they meet conformance requirements. Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structures, and install or reinstall parts. Demonstrate effective repair techniques, including troubleshooting and soldering. Maintain all required paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Additional Functions: Lay out, remove, fabricate, and install repairs on flight controls and secondary structures using techniques like honeycomb core sandwich construction, composite repair, and hydraulic operations. Fabricate and repair sheet metal and mechanical parts through various mechanical processes. Remove and install APUs, performing all required maintenance for Gulfstream aircraft models. Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical harnesses, including splicing and soldering. Use training and tools to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits. Assist in training other aircraft component repair technicians. Resolve routine questions and problems, referring complex issues to higher levels. Perform other duties as assigned.
