This opportunity is an entry-level transportation engineering position intended for Spring 2026 graduates, with the position starting in Summer 2026. The role resides within the Transportation Practice of KCI Technologies and includes the following duties: Assist in the development of multiple construction plans for transportation projects under the supervision of a senior project engineer or project manager. Perform work involving conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment. Assignments typically include engineering calculations, interpretation of drawings and specifications, and assistance with proposal preparation. Help coordinate work of multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work for the project. Develop engineering reports, quantities, and Construction Cost Estimates. The ideal candidate will possess these preferred qualifications: General knowledge and/or experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD. Good communication and technical writing skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards. EIT certification preferred. Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required: 0-2 years of experience. Bachelor\'s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program. General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Good communication and technical writing skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically. Education and/or Work Experience Preferred: Previous internships or work experience in the engineering field. Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required: Valid Driver\'s License. Ability to maintain required certifications. Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
