Description Team Fishel,
the top choice in utility construction since 1936, is hiring a Safety Coordinator for Electrical Distribution projects at our Plant City, FL office. The ideal candidate will be a former Journeyman Lineworker with at least five years of verifiable experience in electrical distribution work and familiarity with DOT and OSHA programs, regulations, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist in identifying and mitigating hazards at job site locations.
Investigate accidents, injuries, and job damages as required.
Coordinate the service and inspection of fire extinguishers, portable gas detectors, and other safety equipment.
Conduct and coordinate classroom and field safety training sessions.
Prepare and lead monthly safety meetings to share trends, best practices, and updates.
Oversee driver safety and DOT compliance training.
Maintain safety records.
Requirements & Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in electrical utility construction with a focus on safety.
Experience in both Overhead and URD construction is preferred.
Knowledgeable in safety standards including OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and pole top rescue.
Ability to perform safety audits and document findings.
Effective communication skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to teach and coach safety practices.
Strong administration and tracking skills.
Willingness to travel as required.
