QA Manager
for a USDA manufacturer in the Beaumont, TX area. This person drives the facility's Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs, ensuring products meet the highest safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This leader maintains continuous compliance with the
USDA
and the
SQF Code . Compensation
Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr This range is provided by Judge Direct Placement. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Key Responsibilities
USDA Compliance:
Serve as the primary
USDA/FSIS liaison , managing all inspections and non-compliance responses. SQF System Ownership:
Act as the certified
SQF Practitioner , driving the implementation, verification, and integrity of the SQF Food Safety and Quality Systems. Audit Management:
Lead and successfully close all
SQF, customer, and regulatory audits , implementing necessary Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Food Safety Planning:
Develop, validate, and maintain the facility's
HACCP Plan
and prerequisite programs (PRPs). Quality Control:
Manage the
product hold/release
program and oversee all in-process quality checks and finished product testing. Sanitation & GMPs:
Enforce
SSOPs and GMPs , verifying sanitation effectiveness through pre-operational and environmental monitoring. Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate all quality failures and customer complaints, determining root cause and implementing sustainable CAPA. Team Leadership:
Hire, train, and mentor the
QA/QC team , promoting a robust food safety culture across the plant. Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum
3-5 years
of progressive QA/FSQA management experience in a
USDA-regulated
food manufacturing environment (meat, poultry, or egg products required). Certifications:
HACCP Certified
(Required). PCQI Certified (Strongly preferred).
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field. Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead audits, strong written and verbal communication, and expert knowledge of USDA/FSIS and GFSI standards. Seniority level
