Oversee all
microbiological testing performed by third-party labs , ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GMP compliance. Review and interpret
microbial data
from utilities, water systems, and environmental monitoring programs. Trend and assess
bioburden, endotoxin, and microbial limits
to detect deviations and prevent contamination risks. Lead
risk assessments
and
root-cause investigations
for microbiological or environmental excursions. Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to uphold environmental and cleanroom control strategies. Ensure ongoing
water system qualification, monitoring, and compliance
to USP and FDA requirements. Maintain documentation and data integrity for microbiological quality records. Support validation activities, including cleaning, sanitization, and sterilization reviews. Serve as the
site SME for microbiological quality , guiding best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred). 5+ years of microbiology or quality experience in a
pharma, CDMO, or regulated manufacturing
setting. Strong understanding of
USP 61, 62, 1116 , and environmental monitoring principles. Skilled at analyzing, trending, and presenting microbiological data. Knowledge of water systems, cleanroom classifications, and contamination control programs. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills — comfortable collaborating across functions. Detail-oriented and proactive, with a passion for building strong microbial control programs. Why This Role Matters
