Vantage Mobility
The Facilities & Safety Manager ensures a safe, compliant, and fully operational environment for employees, visitors, and production by owning facility systems, safety compliance, maintenance planning, and risk control. This role develops Supervisors and Leads, drives preventive and predictive maintenance tied to production TAKT, manages regulatory compliance, and implements business continuity strategies.
The Manager partners cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and external vendors to sustain reliability, improve safety culture, control costs, and support VM’s Four Pillars: Safety, Quality, Output, and Cost.
MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
Lead the Safety Program in partnership with the Safety Supervisor.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fire Department, and other regulations.
Conduct audits, inspections, and hazard assessments, track and close corrective actions.
Oversee incident investigations and emergency preparedness programs.
Ensure proper hazardous material handling and contractor/vendor safety compliance.
Facilities & Maintenance
Oversee all facility systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire/life safety, security, grounds, custodial).
Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs with ≥90% compliance.
Plan and manage capital projects, renovations, and upgrades within budget and schedule.
Manage vendor contracts, leases, and facility agreements.
Apply Lean/5S practices to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Budget, Metrics & Reporting
Manage Facilities & Safety budgets within ±5% of target.
Track and report KPIs (e.g., incident rates, PM completion, downtime reduction, corrective action closure).
Use data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
Lead and develop Facilities & Safety Supervisors, Leads, and staff.
Provide coaching, goal setting, and performance feedback.
Partner with Learning & Development to ensure required training and certifications are maintained.
Promote a proactive safety culture through visible leadership and recognition.
Work with cross-functional teams to support production throughput and inspection readiness.
Ensure facilities are prepared for OEM, NHTSA, and Fire Department audits.
Escalate issues as needed to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in Facilities Management, Safety, or Environmental Health.
5–7 years’ experience in facilities/safety management within manufacturing, automotive, or maintenance.
Safety certifications (CSP, CIH, NEBOSH) preferred.
Hands-on knowledge of building systems.
Experience applying Lean/5S and continuous improvement.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in facility management systems, safety reporting tools, and MS Office.
Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards; occasional off-hours emergency response.
Must be able to perform physical work in industrial environments and respond to emergencies as needed.

High compliance with preventive maintenance schedules.
Timely closure of safety-related corrective actions.
Continuous reduction in injuries and overall safety incidents.
Reduction in unplanned equipment downtime.
Facilities consistently maintained at or above audit standards.
Departmental expenses managed within budget.
