Base Pay Range $130,000.00/yr – $185,000.00/yr

We’re seeking a Water Treatment/Pumping Project Manager to join our mid‑Atlantic and East Central region. Someone who can use their vast experience in the water industry and apply it to today’s challenges. As a valued Jacobs employee, you will work with multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve successful design of water treatment and pumping facilities and help lead clients to the correct treatment approach. You’ll have the opportunity to work with conventional and advanced treatment processes, including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, granular media filtration, biological filtration, membrane filtration, disinfection (ozone, UV, chlorine), adsorption technologies, and other treatment processes.

Responsibilities

Lead the full life‑cycle design, construction, and commissioning of water treatment plants and pump stations.

Utilize modeling tools, bench‑scale analysis, pilot plant design, and full‑scale design to develop optimal treatment approaches.

Support business development efforts and pursue new projects while building long‑term client relationships.

Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering.

Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the consulting engineering industry, with expertise in water treatment and process engineering.

Strong experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams on large projects (design fees $4M +).

Proficiency in water distribution system planning (pipelines, pumps, stations, storage tanks) and wastewater system planning (pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants).

Deep understanding of drinking water supply, master planning, and treatment technologies.

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.

Proven communication skills, both written and oral, and a self‑motivated, initiative‑driven mindset.

Preferred

Master’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
