Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to lead and execute the commissioning efforts of mission‑critical systems for a semiconductor project near Boise, ID. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of the commissioning process across mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and low‑voltage systems. You’ll work closely with construction teams, design engineers, commissioning agents, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure all systems are installed, tested, and handed over in optimal condition for operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project commissioning plan and schedule for all systems.
Lead commissioning meetings and coordination efforts with project teams, vendors, and third‑party commissioning agents.
Oversee the review of commissioning documentation including test scripts, control sequences, submittals, and MEP shop drawings.
Manage functional and integrated systems testing (Level 1–5 commissioning), ensuring alignment with project specifications, commissioning standards, and client expectations.
Coordinate pre‑functional checklists, startup procedures, and site acceptance testing (SAT).
Verify performance of critical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, CRAHs/CRACs, BMS/EMS, chilled water, fire protection, and security/telecom systems.
Track deficiencies and manage resolution processes to close out punch lists and ensure proper documentation.
Serve as the central point of contact for all commissioning‑related activities on‑site.
Interface with general contractors, subcontractors, owner’s reps, and operations/facilities teams to ensure transparency and alignment.
Provide regular updates on commissioning status, issues, and milestones to internal and external stakeholders.
Lead system handover and closeout processes, ensuring delivery of as‑built documentation, test reports, and operations manuals.
Support training sessions for facilities/operations staff on system operation and maintenance.
Assist in post‑commissioning support and warranty period coordination as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
10+ years of commissioning or field engineering experience in data centers, critical infrastructure, or large commercial/industrial projects.
Strong understanding of mission‑critical MEP systems, power distribution, HVAC, controls, and redundancy configurations (N+1, 2N, etc.).
Familiarity with commissioning guidelines and standards (ASHRAE, NEBB, ACG, Uptime Institute, etc.).
Demonstrated leadership and project coordination experience with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and commissioning platforms (CxAlloy, FacilityGrid, etc.).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Certification or affiliation with professional organizations (e.g., CxA, LEED AP, PE license) is a plus.
