The Olney Manor Management Area is made up of 44 parks. These parks cover 3,841 acres and include 3 Recreational Parks, Local Parks, Conservation Parks, Neighborhood Parks, 50 athletic fields, 50 tennis courts, and 36 playgrounds. Under the supervision of a park maintenance leader, the selected candidate performs a wide variety of professional park operations within the Olney Manor Management Area. They will assist with diverse park operations and programs within the Olney Manor Management Area to provide a secure, safe, and enjoyable park experience for the public.

Responsibilities
Operate non‑CDL vehicles and equipment including riding mowers, tractors with attachments, trucks, front‑end loaders, and backhoes.
Perform landscaping duties such as spreading grass seed, lime, fertilizer, and top‑dressing on fields by operating a tractor with attachments; also plant, trim, and prune trees and shrubs.
Maintain and install park fixtures and furnishings.
Maintain athletic fields by operating a tractor with attachment to rake, drag, and grade fields; also spray pesticides.
Track and record daily work assignments for Emergency Alert Management.
Keep supervisor up to date on assigned work tasks.
Respond to emergencies and inclement weather conditions such as hurricanes, blizzards, and earthquakes.
Perform general custodial duties including cleaning restrooms, setting up meeting rooms, relocating equipment and furniture, mopping, sweeping, stripping, and refinishing floors, and carrying out general repairs.
Reuse and recycle collections.
Work as part of a group but may occasionally work alone.
Working Conditions
Position requires a combination of field and office work; exposure to various elements and adverse weather conditions is common.
Work requires constant bending, lifting, and carrying of heavy objects of up to 100 pounds, regularly up to 50 pounds.
Additional Information
The selected candidate for this position will primarily work outside and will be exposed to all types of weather.
Working on weekends, evenings, and holidays may be required.
The incumbent may be exposed to weather, dirt, waste, odors, caustic chemicals, pesticides, wildlife, and potentially harmful insects.
Qualifications
Pass Commission medical examination.
18 years of age.
Two (2) years of experience in groundskeeping, building maintenance, or park maintenance; or a semi‑skilled trade experience (HVACR, plumbing, painting, masonry, electrical, carpentry).
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted; together total two (2) years.
Valid driver’s license in accordance with both State and Commission rules; license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit driving duties.
Classification Specification: Senior Parks/Facilities Maintenance Worker.
An essential employee for on‑call 24 hours for emergencies.
Must be available to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
