is representing a leading aerospace manufacturer in search of an experienced Buyer to support their growing production operations. This role is ideal for a procurement professional with strong negotiation skills, ERP expertise, and a passion for keeping complex manufacturing programs running smoothly. Position Overview
The
Buyer
is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and components required for production. This role involves developing vendor relationships, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Buyer works closely with planning, engineering, and operations teams to support production schedules and company goals. Key Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of materials, equipment, and services. Collaborate with planning teams and utilize ERP systems to determine material order quantities and timing. Review and manage purchase orders, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards. Partner with engineering to develop specifications or identify alternative materials. Resolve supplier issues, expedite deliveries, and maintain effective communication to support on-time production. Monitor inventory levels to balance operational needs with financial objectives. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Purchasing Certification from a recognized professional organization (or equivalent experience). 3–5 years of procurement or buying experience, ideally with electronic components. Background in aerospace or automotive manufacturing strongly preferred. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Word/Excel. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
