Fred Smith Company is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in our Raleigh location. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with engineering requirements and paperwork associated with larger projects for public and/or private clients. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management.
FSC is an established and growing heavy highway, site construction contractor and asphalt manufacturer with approximately 1,300 employees based in Raleigh, North Carolina, operating as far East as Kitty Hawk and as far West as Winston-Salem.
Duties include:
Review daily reports and validate accuracy Monitor and revise weekly project schedule Assist Project Manager with utility conflicts and notification to client concerning delays Assist Project Manager with change orders and estimating cost of change orders Develop a working relationship with the general public, client, management, engineers, inspectors, laborers, equipment operators, etc. Assist Project Manager with scheduling and purchase of all materials and coordinate delivery to achieve success Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (4 years) -
Preferred Three to Five years
job experience in an Engineer, Superintendent or higher field role with relevant, large scale heavy highway projects Professional license, certifications and contractor's licenses -
Preferred Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to organize and prioritize tasks Strong leadership and management skills Ability to adapt and work effectively with a diverse workforce Must have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety Course
within
