Inventory and Logistics Supervisor

Location: Troy, OH
Overview The Inventory and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management and the Shipping and Receiving operation, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory control, timely shipments, and coordination between warehouse, procurement, and transportation functions. The role supervises the team handling packing, loading, unloading, and shipment of goods to and from the facility.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management
Monitor, analyze, and maintain inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability.
Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Implement best practices to reduce costs, avoid obsolescence, and prevent overstocking.
Ensure proper storage and handling of goods; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Serve as main point of contact for the 3rd party warehouse (Waco).
Coordinate, communicate, and record product movement; manage non-active inventory and action items with relevant teams.
Collaborate with Inventory Analyst, Finishing Scheduler, Shipping, and Quality teams to manage returned material and timely resolutions.
Logistics & Transportation
Oversee shipping documentation, customs compliance (if applicable), and freight claims.
Identify opportunities to minimize freight costs through optimization and planning.
Monitor fill rate efficiencies and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Team Supervision
Coordinate with operations and scheduling to ensure on-time shipments and priority setting for productivity and customer service.
Oversee loading/unloading of trucks and verify shipment contents for damage, shortages, and overages.
Implement quality control measures and ensure adherence to policies, safety, and laws.
Manage staffing, training, performance, timecards, and employee development; promote engagement and safety compliance.
Maintain floor presence, set expectations, and handle administrative duties for Inventory, Shipping & Receiving teams.
Ensure OSHA and Mactac safety guidelines are followed; conduct incident investigations and maintain housekeeping standards.
Reporting & Analysis
Report daily shift performance against KPIs for safety, quality, productivity, service, and related metrics.
Lead department projects and continuous improvement initiatives; provide performance feedback and SOP support.
Maintain records of shipments and generate required reports.
Scope

Work Authorization: Legal authorization to work in the US required
Qualifications
Experience:
3-5 years of Transportation/Logistics experience with supervisory experience; proven experience in Transportation/Logistics; ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences; experience with ERP systems and 3rd party freight billing; experience with international shipping; familiarity with LTL, TL, IM, Parcel; strong negotiation and organizational skills; team player.
Education:
High School Diploma/HSE/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business or equivalent work experience may be considered.
