Quality Control Inspector- Aerospace Manufacturing A quality control (QC) inspector ensures products and processes meet established standards through visual & physical inspection of materials, monitoring production, conducting tests, and documenting any defects. They use tools like calipers and gauges, analyze data, identify trends, and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and improve overall quality. Their role is crucial for maintaining product consistency, ensuring safety, complying with regulations, and protecting brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all repairs and operations follow FAA/EASA/ISO/AS standards and company guidance.

Conduct assigned tasks with responsibility and authority.

Follow company procedures, maintain records, complete required forms and paperwork.

Ensure all repairs comply with FAA regulations.

Control and maintain technical documents and publications.

Perform calibrations, read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Initiate and participate in corrective actions, rework problem solving and audit processes.

Perform dimensional/visual inspections using standard inspection gauges and CMM.

Perform FPI and UT inspections.

Promote an attitude to serve the customer, instilling a sense of balance between quality & urgency throughout the Inspection Department.

Any additional tasks or activities as required by management.

Day Activities Testing & Inspection Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and tests on raw materials, components, and finished goods to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.

Monitoring & Compliance Observe production operations to ensure they adhere to prescribed guidelines and standards, and verify compliance with relevant industry regulations.

Tool & Equipment Management Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments, ensuring their accuracy and reliability for consistent results.

Documentation & Reporting Record inspection results, document any non‑conformities or defects, and report findings to senior staff or the quality assurance department.

Process Improvement Analyze quality data to identify trends, investigate the causes of defects, and recommend corrective actions to production teams to improve quality processes.

A keen eye for identifying small flaws and discrepancies in products and processes.

Analytical & Critical Thinking Skills:

The ability to interpret data, identify root causes of quality issues, and propose effective solutions and problem‑solving strategies.

Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of measurement tools like calipers, gauges, and micrometers, and the ability to read blueprints and specifications.

Communication Skills:

Effectively report findings and collaborate with production teams and other stakeholders to address quality concerns.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school and Technical School.

Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to communicate effectively.

Ability to work cooperatively with others. Excellent work history and attendance record.

Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Working Conditions

Fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment.

Daily interaction with shop department leads, quality, purchasing, and key stakeholders.

Occasional overtime or weekend coordination during peak delivery periods.
