Commissioning Manager – Traveling L. F. Driscoll, part of the STO Building Group, is looking for an experienced Traveling Commissioning Manager to support our mission‑critical projects. As a Commissioning Manager you will take charge of planning, coordinating, executing, and overseeing all commissioning activities for assigned construction projects on the job site. You will bring deep expertise in the design, construction, and operation of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems, with a strong focus on LEED Enhanced Commissioning and Building Envelope commissioning.

Responsibilities

Review project documentation, including plans, specifications, and schedules.

Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.

Develop and implement commissioning plans and documentation, including schedules.

Lead daily commissioning activities on the project site.

Chair commissioning meetings and coordinate all commissioning activities.

Mentor and coach junior staff on the commissioning process.

Manage commissioning schedule and coordinate support from Field Superintendents, QA/QC staff, and commissioning engineers.

Coordinate with Operations and Project Management teams on schedule, budget, training, and issues that arise.

Inspect and test all equipment and systems to ensure compliance with safety policies and project requirements.

Coordinate equipment and material deliveries with vendors and subcontractors.

Perform pre‑commissioning and start‑up inspections to confirm the project is ready for commissioning activities.

Audit commissioning paperwork for accuracy and completeness.

Provide updates and reports on commissioning issues in a timely manner to all necessary parties.

Prepare for transition to the client after final inspections and commissioning processes are complete.

Manage observations/issue log, updating and tracking through closure.

Responsible for integrated system testing and compilation of results.

Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

6–10 years of experience in construction, commissioning, start‑up, and operations on large‑scale projects.

Commissioning (CX) certification is a plus.

Data Center Commissioning experience is a plus.

Building Automation Systems (Controls) experience is a plus.

Proficiency with commissioning software (CxAlloy, Nexus) is a plus.

Proficient in creating, reviewing, and presenting reports regarding commissioning activities.

Experience developing plans and processing relating to commissioning for large‑scale construction projects.
