Purpose Athene is accelerating its AI journey. As the Technical Product Manager for AI Innovation & Experimentation, you will serve as the critical bridge between business and technology, helping define how we use AI to transform the way we work. This role focuses on workflow redesign, use case discovery, and experimentation. You will partner with the business to identify opportunities, articulate requirements, and translate between technical and business teams to turn concepts into actionable prototypes and enterprise-grade deployments. You’ll work within the Strategy & Innovation team and partner cross-functionally. This is a dynamic and highly visible team, and we are looking for adaptable, fast learners who are passionate about technology and driving meaningful impact.
Accountabilities
Partner with business SMEs to understand use cases and translate them into technical experiment designs
Define measurable success criteria that align outcomes with business objectives
Help execute prioritized AI experiments by gathering requirements, building lightweight prototypes (using Python, LLMs, and vendor capabilities), and validating outcomes with business users
Present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders in clear, actionable formats
Develop structured documentation for experiments to enable seamless handoff to IT for production implementation
Contribute feedback to improve experimentation frameworks based on hands‑on experience
Support maintenance of the AI Use Case Portfolio
Qualifications and Experience
5+ years of experience in product management or software engineering
Demonstrated AI passion: a driven and well-informed learner who actively researches and tests the technology and understands its strengths and limitations
Strong, curious, and organized communicator who can engage business and technical users at both junior and senior levels
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deconstruct complex business problems
Experience facilitating discovery sessions, gathering requirements, and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency in Python or similar tools to prototype small-scale AI concepts and automate data exploration
Experience building lightweight prototypes or proofs of concept using Python, APIs, or AI/ML services
Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning and LLMs
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their AI/ML services
SQL proficiency for data extraction and analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
