Overview
This position will work closely with the ASSA ABLOY Architectural Door Accessories business unit teams on research, new product development, product life cycle management, product launches, and sales opportunities. This role requires cross-functional collaboration within Pemko business teams and will drive the development of category product roadmaps, marketing strategy, competitive pricing, positioning and messaging across products. The candidate will learn the new product development process, move quickly, and lead projects from inception to launch, using data analytics to develop sound recommendations. The right candidate will be hands-on and gain a deep understanding of their products, their usage, installation, and potential improvements. Responsibilities
New Product Development: Direct rapid NPD/branding efforts for Pemko products from concept definition through product launch. Include product line analysis, trend analysis, Voice of Customer research, design activities, and managing the project through the stage-gate process. Assist in the development of product road maps aligned with the ASSA ABLOY strategy of innovation and market leadership. Evaluate product category segments to identify new opportunities, analyze portfolio life cycle, profitability, and take actions such as cost reduction, price adjustments, or rationalization. Collaborate with Brand Management, Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to execute. Develop an expert understanding of competitors, their products, programs, pricing and overall strategy. Maintain a robust competitive database with detailed product comparisons including features, performance data, and pricing. Manage product development timelines by creating and monitoring project timelines. Lead team meetings as required and maintain NPD gateway documentation. Marketing
Collaborate with Marketing Communications and Brand Management to develop technical marketing materials including product catalogs, price books, instruction sheets, product presentations, advertisements, and press releases. Assist in product and catalog branding; create product information for new and existing products for use by Marketing Communications. Determine white space within channels and verticals and develop/executE plans to gain share. Business Analysis
Analyze market trends, competitive activity and threats, business climate and potential opportunities. Manage pricing structures during product introductions, deletions and price changes. Build and maintain a monthly product category report to analyze performance; identify trends to increase sales and work with supply chain to optimize inventory accordingly. Manage product life cycles, SKU rationalization and portfolio decisions. Research and document areas for future product introductions and collaborate to enact appropriate pricing actions to maximize market share and profitability. Other Responsibilities
Perform other related duties for the function of the unit, including collaboration with quality, warehouse, plant supervision/leads, engineering, supply chain, and customer service. Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 5%). Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Experience
BA/BS in Business Management, Marketing, Engineering or related field; MBA preferred. Relevant experience may supplement degree requirements. 2-3 years product management or technical hardware product experience; experience in commercial door hardware preferred. Hands-on, collaborative mindset with drive to deliver results. Strong attention to detail and ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (verbal and written). Solid project management and analytical capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar). About ASSA ABLOY Group
