Quality Control Inspector – Civil / Mechanical (EPC Projects) Automation Personnel Services is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Quality Control Inspector
to join a leading EPC contractor supporting large-scale power projects. The company is based in Houston, TX, with this position located in Amarillo, TX (Panhandle region). Per diem is provided for non‑local candidates.
Pay Rate:
$40.00 – $48.00 per hour (commensurate with experience). Overtime and per diem are provided for non‑local candidates.
Schedule and Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required based on project schedule and workload.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of civil construction activities (earthwork, concrete, foundations, structural work) to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Verify that incoming materials such as concrete, steel, aggregates, and soil meet approved specifications.
Monitor construction processes, including excavation, foundation pouring, and structural assembly, ensuring adherence to project design and engineering standards.
Observe and verify testing activities performed by third‑party laboratories and confirm proper documentation and reporting.
Maintain thorough inspection and testing documentation, including daily reports, material certifications, and non‑conformance logs.
Conduct regular quality audits to identify and correct potential deficiencies before they impact the project schedule.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
For mechanical scopes, review assembly, installation, and welding inspections to verify conformance with specifications.
Review and interpret test data and reports to confirm that all materials and workmanship meet required standards.
Support site management with QA/QC documentation, progress updates, and final quality reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in civil or mechanical construction quality control, preferably within EPC or power projects.
Working knowledge of construction codes, standards, and testing procedures related to civil and mechanical works.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with site teams, subcontractors, and testing personnel.
Proficient in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, project reporting software).
Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to travel and work at project sites for extended periods.
