Crystal Stairs, Inc. is looking for an experienced Intake Specialist at our Los Angeles, CA location. The role is 100% onsite.
Overview Under limited supervision, the Intake Specialist determines family eligibility for California subsidized child care programs and maintains case files, certifies and re‑certifies eligibility, provides referrals, and performs childcare orientations and outreach.
Responsibilities
Process initial childcare requests and assist parents and providers in completing applications.
Monitor program compliance and ensure documentation is complete.
Determine eligibility and handle enrollment of families qualified for subsidized child care.
Respond to staff and parent requests for information or services; provide supportive and referral services.
Perform data entry for initial enrollment and prepare client files.
Conduct childcare orientations at county/government regional offices, One‑Stop/Work‑Source Centers and represent the agency at community events.
Conduct outreach activities at job fairs and other events; conduct weekly site visits.
Provide monthly statistical reports on activities.
Meet assigned performance standards and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum two years of experience in case management or client/vendor management in a human services or child development environment.
B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited four‑year university or equivalent work experience.
Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills and experience with a diverse client base.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to apply program guidelines and follow procedures.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and multi‑tasking ability.
Must have up to date COVID‑19 vaccination; valid driver’s license; active vehicle with insurance.
