Payroll & Benefits Administrator (Human Resources – Process Automation Focus)

Position Overview The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will be responsible for managing payroll processing, benefits administration, and automation of HR-related processes to improve accuracy and efficiency. This individual will collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to ensure all payroll and benefits operations comply with company policies and state/federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and biweekly payroll for all employees with accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain employee payroll data, benefits enrollment, and deductions within HRIS systems.
Automate manual HR workflows to streamline payroll and benefits administration.
Partner with IT and HR leadership to identify and implement HR automation tools.
Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, and year-end statements (W-2, 1095-C, etc.).
Serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and timekeeping.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, wage & hour regulations, and benefits eligibility rules.
Support audits and maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field.
3+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience in a manufacturing or food industry setting preferred.
Experience with payroll automation tools and HRIS systems (ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or similar).
Strong analytical and Excel skills.
Familiarity with federal and state employment laws.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
