Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates radiologic equipment to create clinical diagnostic radiographs and perform routine diagnostic procedures following established standards and practices.
Provides patient services using various imaging modalities.
Delivers patient care to all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatrics.
Positions patients, selects appropriate protocols, and utilizes all necessary equipment.
Maintains competencies for all related tasks.
Follows all established imaging protocols accurately.
When performing exams in ICU or surgery, the student must be accompanied by a staff technologist.
Provides age-specific quality care in accordance with prescribed standards.
Adheres to Radiation Safety Policies and principles of dose reduction programs.
Provides patient education and communication per prescribed standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Operates various types of x-ray equipment, including radiographic/fluoroscopy rooms and portable units.
Produces quality radiographic exams.
Delivers SAFE care following the Alwaysafe program.
Uses AIDET with every patient encounter and is proficient with service recovery.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
Currently enrolled as a 2nd-year student in an accredited radiological technology program.
Minimum Experience:
None
Licensure/Certification:
BLS certified; no additional licensure required by law.
Additional Qualifications BLS certification required.
