Senior Project Manager, Power Development
Entergy is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the development of power generation projects—including combined cycle, simple cycle gas turbine, solar, and energy storage—within our Power Development organization.
Job Summary The primary responsibility is to manage the origination and development of new generation projects, ensuring they meet cost, schedule, safety, and reliability objectives. The role involves leading cross‑functional teams, overseeing front‑end development, coordinating with regulatory functions, and acting as the commercial lead for project contracts.
Location & Flexibility Onsite. Must be based in either The Woodlands, TX or New Orleans, LA. Relocation assistance is not available.
Responsibilities
Promote safe behavior in accordance with company expectations and safety rules.
Lead a project development team focused on delivering power generation and storage projects safely and sustainably.
Organize and lead project teams to develop projects following corporate standards and the Entergy Stage Gate Process (SGP), coordinating all stakeholder activities and deliverables.
Serve as the commercial lead, managing contracts and ensuring the contracting strategy achieves cost and schedule certainty while maintaining acceptable risk allocation.
Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan, incorporating lessons learned and industry best practices.
Provide clear, timely status reports and presentations to management, making prompt decisions on issues that could impact performance.
Collaborate with regulatory functions to secure necessary certifications and support project viability.
Support enterprise‑wide Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) initiatives across the project team.
Mentor and develop team members, ensuring their Individual Development Plans are complete and progressing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of project management experience in new generation origination and development; OR 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
3+ years of experience in project management.
Highly preferred: 5+ years of commercial contract experience in the energy/utility industry.
Proficient in project management fundamentals and project management software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other project management applications.
Understanding of industry best practices.
Demonstrated cross‑functional leadership experience and a service‑mindset approach.
Desired: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
