Senior Business Development Manager for Automotive

The Business Development Manager (BDM) / Account Manager will help grow Sanmina’s market position in outsourced electronics manufacturing and development services for Automotive & Mobility. They will proactively develop, close, and grow commercial business supporting all Sanmina services, including Engineering services, NPI, Production, EOL, and post-production services. The role covers all aspects of the assigned customer base, serving as the liaison between the company and the customer to ensure needs are met. The candidate will pursue new customers and service existing accounts while seeking to increase revenue and profit for each account. Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 automotive suppliers will be the focus, with support of all customers in the territory expected. Nature of Duties / Responsibilities
Identify and develop commercial opportunities with customers in North America within the assigned territory Drive revenue growth in the territory and assigned customer base Act as the prime point of contact for all Sanmina services Conduct initial qualifying meetings to understand customer criteria and needs relating to Sanmina’s services portfolio Communicate customer expectations and maintain customer satisfaction to achieve account objectives Drive and negotiate pricing to meet profitability targets, including non-standard services Understand customer requirements and align Sanmina’s technology and services roadmaps Coordinate with internal teams to develop and deliver customer proposals Manage Business Development activities with program managers and operations Secure customer commitments via awards and purchase orders Lead or collaborate with the global account team as appropriate Maintain and update customer databases in Sanmina’s CRM Resolve customer issues and identify product issues Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain a positive customer experience Develop relationships with accounts at all levels of the decision matrix Provide complete and accurate quotations on time with lead times Maintain an accurate forecast for qualified products Develop, maintain, and execute an Account Plan Coordinate customer/VIP visits and presentations (e.g., Business Reviews, QBRs, Operations Reviews) Manage settlements of commercial claims and ensure receivables are current Articulate Sanmina’s capabilities and value proposition Be prepared to take on additional duties as assigned Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS or equivalent; 7-10 years of electronic manufacturing, outsourcing, and/or technical sales/related services Knowledgeable about Sanmina’s full capabilities Familiar with electronics manufacturing and outsourcing Proficient at developing and maintaining strong internal and customer relationships Excellent verbal and written communication skills Uses a consultative sales approach and closes deals Ability to travel globally and domestically Proficient with CRM, Microsoft Office, and related software tools Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize effectively Experience developing and closing Customer Agreements Ability to manage escalations Proven negotiation skills Adept time management Equal Opportunity
