MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck) Are you a Registered Architect or Certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Authority passionate about high-performance buildings and sustainable design? Are you looking for a rare opportunity to lead, shape, and scale a building enclosure commissioning (BECx) practice with the full support of a multidisciplinary team behind you? At MBP, we’re not just meeting the minimum to check the box. We pride ourselves on providing our clients with better project outcomes. Our firm is looking for a mission-driven, technically savvy professional to lead our BECx services in accordance with multiple green building initiatives across design, construction, and warranty phases. You’ll be joining a company that has already laid the foundation for BECx success with committed clients, an established pipeline, and a growing track record. Now, we’re ready to expand, and we’re looking for a leader who can take our momentum and elevate it into a scalable, industry-leading service line. This opportunity is open for two MBP office locations. What You'll Do: As a Building Enclosure Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and growing MBP’s BECx services for both new construction and existing buildings. You will lead and manage a diverse range of projects, taking them from conception to completion. Responsibilities include: Leading and performing the delivery of BECx services, ensuring quality assurance throughout the design and construction phases. Managing and guiding project managers on multiple assignments, overseeing diverse teams, and developing BECx best practices. Actively contributing to business development, strategy, and forecasting, while being involved in recruiting, budgeting, and corporate initiatives. Maintaining registrations and certifications relevant to the role (expenses associated with certifications and renewals are paid by MBP). Who We Are Looking For: We’re seeking candidates who are excited to grow a service area and leave a legacy of technical excellence and client impact. Ideally, you have: Licensure as a Registered Architect (RA), or certification as a BECxP or CxA+BE (or currently qualify to get certified). 5+ years of relevant experience in building enclosure design, construction administration, or commissioning. In-depth knowledge and proven experience in the BECx process. Deep understanding of enclosure systems, performance testing, and common failure modes. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and earn client trust. Strong project management experience, including budgeting, leadership, and business development. The drive and vision to take ownership and grow a service into a strategic business line. What We Offer: We’re focused on providing the tools and support you need to succeed, both personally and professionally. MBP offers a comprehensive benefits package including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance (for individual employees), a 401(k) profit-sharing plan with company match, a health savings account with company contributions, competitive compensation with opportunities for semi-annual bonuses, and generous paid time off. MBP is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
