The Opportunity
Lead water process engineering—conventional and advanced treatment, distribution system quality, water reuse and brackish/seawater desalination.
Apply advanced treatment techniques and solve complex engineering problems.
Provide technical guidance, supervise junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Develop and present technical evaluations, recommendations and business‑development materials.
Own business‑development activities: conferences, client relationships, proposal support and new business pursuits.
The Team Over 200 process engineers across water, industrial, agriculture, LNG, hydrogen and carbon capture. Focus on megatrends such as water scarcity and energy sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare engineering deliverables: mass balance calculations, design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, trade‑off studies and master planning studies.
Support multiple projects simultaneously with complex technical challenges.
Serve as a technical specialist in water quality and advanced treatment systems.
Perform bench, pilot, and full‑scale testing to assess alternative processes.
Develop recommendations for treatment process, equipment and material selection.
Oversee collection and analysis of data for process design work.
Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods.
Manage assigned scope, budget and schedule while maintaining quality.
Apply advanced engineering techniques and problem‑solving analyses independently.
Develop life‑cycle cost concepts to evaluate treatment options.
Demonstrate strong technical writing and effective communication skills.
Coordinate with internal and external team members for project execution.
Client Focus
Identify key client interests and drivers for ongoing and new projects.
Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop creative solutions.
Support business‑development activities: pre‑positioning meetings, proposals, client interviews and winning sales messages.
Present research, industry trends, challenging projects and thought leadership at conferences.
People Management
Foster technical and professional development of junior engineers.
Coaching, mentoring, career planning and training of junior staff.
Review or manage the work of junior engineers.
Engineering Standards
Guidance on design guides, standards, systems and applicable engineering codes.
Assist in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards.
Provide technical guidance to others on projects and disciplines.
Management Responsibilities Supervise work, hire, discipline and administer pay for subordinates.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering.
15+ years in drinking water treatment; 5+ years in water quality, treatment evaluation, process design, regulatory compliance and distribution water quality.
Advanced knowledge of process design for municipal effluent reuse, brackish and seawater desalination and brine management.
Leadership skills with deep understanding of consulting, project execution, client services and business development.
Effective written and oral communication, drive for results, priority setting, planning, delegating, conflict management and team building.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
15+ years related work experience.
Complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements: background check, drug screen and motor vehicle records search.
Certifications Professional engineering license in any U.S. state or ability to obtain one within 2 years of employment.
Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion.
