Salary: $4,742 to $6,003 per month (SR-18, Step C to I). Hiring rates are based on the availability of funds and applicant qualifications. This continuous recruitment may be closed at any time.
Duties Summary Receive and coordinate requests for the repair and maintenance of schools and other public buildings; conduct informal bid purchasing for supplies, materials and services required in repairs and maintenance; maintain pertinent operating and fiscal data; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Legal Authorization To Work Requirement : State of Hawaiʻi requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Education : Graduation from high school. Excess experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
General Experience : Two (2) years of general work experience required keeping written records.
Specialized Experience : Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in one or a combination of the following areas: Scheduling building construction or maintenance work.
Purchasing building construction or maintenance materials or services.
Selling building construction or maintenance materials or services.
Estimating labor and material costs of construction or maintenance materials or services.
Supervisory Aptitude : Applicants must possess supervisory aptitude.
Driver's License : Some positions may require possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
