Position Summary This working supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of field technicians, servicemen, tradesmen, and apprentices, ensuring safety regulations are followed and all job requirements (budget, schedule, quality, and system efficiencies) are met. This includes work on commercial/industrial air-conditioning equipment and multi-zone heating and cooling systems.
Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor field technicians, servicemen, tradesmen, and apprentices.
Install, remove, maintain and repair HVAC systems and related equipment.
Study customer’s scope of service. Ensure the preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to and performed according to the contract.
Evaluate customer needs and make recommendations for correction and/or improvement.
Manage large scale field service and emergency response projects when directed.
Work with the Service Supervisor and maintain regular communications regarding manpower, equipment and resources required to complete field service and emergency response projects.
Troubleshoot electrical problems and make repairs as required.
Document and track preventive maintenance in compliance with EPA regulations.
Maintain efficient environmental conditions, adjust system controls, and test system performance using specialized tools.
Conserve, recover, and recycle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations.
Test systems for leaks and issues.
Install and repair fuel and water supply lines.
Meet with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues. Complete all paperwork professionally and timely.
Assist with customer scope development and technical support for upgrades or retrofits.
Respond promptly when on-call and communicate coverage details.
Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, plus completion of sheet metal apprenticeship or trade school.
OSHA-30 certification (must be obtained within 6 months if not already certified).
Current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate.
Valid Texas Driver License with a clean record.
10+ years of HVAC repair and maintenance experience or equivalent.
Strong organizational skills and ability to interpret EPA regulations.
Ability to work accurately within standards, pass drug and physical tests, and prioritize tasks.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Basic PC skills including email, internet, and MS Office.
Availability for standby, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
