Home Textiles specialist that facilitates & executes design’s vision by providing the appropriate specs, quality & construction that support the Ralph Lauren Home brands while supporting the retail & wholesale business requirements.
Create, maintain and finalize product technical specifications to RL sourcing offices and vendors
Manage and track programs, ensuring deadlines are met and programs adhere to RL standards.
Prepare submits for design review and manage the evaluation of all submits to generate product comments and approvals including but not limited to color, strike-off, trim, sewing and base cloths.
Work proactively to troubleshoot development issues with design & product development teams. Includes but not limited to initiating conversations with design about desired outcome, vendor or timing limitations.
Manage development calendar & WIP report for seasonal product development and elevate exceptions to senior team. TD are responsible for ensuring timely receipt, review & comments/approvals for submits. All timing must be clear when communicating with Agents/Offices & Design. TD must hold vendors accountable to the numbers of days from tech pack receipt to initial submits, timing from comments to resubmission, timing from Design receipt to issuance of TD reviewed/evaluated comments. Any late submits, comments, etc should be escalated.
Maintain clear records of submits, completed SEFs and samples such as market, PP and TOP
Communicate daily with Ralph Lauren offices & direct vendors in the USA, Asia, Europe & South America on product development comments, approvals & inquiries.
Focused collaboration with Design to ensure complete and correct art packs reflect all needs from correct sizing, material IDs with consistent language for sewing descriptions.
Collaborate with and support senior team with sourcing and seasonal product allocation.
Actively Participate in art pack hand over meetings with Design team highlighting common materials, vendor allocation if predetermined, additional needs including artwork or standards.
Work with PM & Director to understand how component changes affect cost.
Collaborate with vendors to develop new product categories and present to design & merchant teams.
Actively participate in product development meetings and bring solutions to development challenges.
Manage records of top of production samples for pattern, color, quality, size and labeling
Initiate testing, compliance conversations and early testing during development stage.
Maintain trim reference library by product and vendor including available PLM material IDs.
Meet all applicable product and tech pack deadlines to ensure timely production delivery.
Build relationships/partnerships with cross functional partners to enhance and streamline the development process.
Manage work load to department initiatives.
Understand the competitive retail landscape.
Salary range: $65,000 - $100,000 annually
College Degree required.
4-6 years experience in Product Development/Technical Design or related field
Experience with factory setting production and sourcing
Strong knowledge of fabric and yarn construction finishes and techniques
Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written
Excellent time management/project skills.
Proven organizational skills and ability manage competing priorities
Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and resourcefulness
Ability to form strong partnerships with different departments
Software Requirements: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, MS Office, MS Excel
FlexPLM or comparable PLM software experience preferred.
