Position Overview Are you a driven business development professional who thrives on building meaningful connections and driving growth? Stevens Construction is seeking an experienced
Business Development Manager
to join our team and lead our strategic growth efforts in Central Florida!
In this role, you’ll be the face of Stevens Construction—identifying new opportunities, building trusted client relationships, and expanding our footprint in targeted markets. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, attend industry events, and help position us as a top construction partner in the region.

Key Responsibilities Client Acquisition and Relationship Management
Acquire work from new clients.
Continue to foster and grow relationships with existing clients and design teams.
Identify market opportunities and potential clients.
Develop and maintain relationships with design professionals, consultants, real estate brokers, developers, bankers, and other industry-related professionals.
Establish two (2) new client contacts per month.
Establish two (2) new architect contacts per month.
Acquire two (2) potential jobs to bid per month.
Lead the business development of one (1) job win per quarter.
Schedule meetings with new and existing clients to obtain project information, leads, and key indicators.
Promote the company’s reputation for quality and performance.
Promote the company’s culture.
Lead, organize, and develop Stevens Orlando’s community volunteering and involvement by coordinating participation in two (2) events per year.
Sales Strategy and Market Development
Participate in the development and implementation of marketing and business development strategies.
Identify and evaluate new markets and partnership opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, and participation in industry/professional groups and associations (e.g., AMFP, ABC, ASHE, DBIA, ULI, EOCC).
Assist in establishing quarterly and annual sales goals.
Identify potential leads and initiate upper management sales approach.
Meet or exceed sales goal targets.
Attend industry events and other meetings to stay abreast of market conditions, competition, and establish relationships with existing clients and prospects. Develop and maintain a wide network through participation in industry committees and associations, representing the company brand to increase our presence and visibility.
Maintain and grow Stevens Orlando’s social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
Tracking, Reporting, and Internal Collaboration
Develop and track job prospects.
Manage, update, and maintain potential job prospects in Cosential.
Provide weekly status and progress reports in Cosential.
Provide weekly anticipated sales reports in Cosential.
Prepare and maintain a business development action plan for each prospective client.
Assist in the development of presentations and proposal responses for the Stevens Orlando office and participate as needed.
Assist in the preparation and development of construction project award submissions for the Stevens Orlando office.
Partner effectively with senior leadership and all internal departments (estimating, operations, and marketing) to support business development effort.
Understands his/her contribution to achieving the five-year strategic plan and the annual plan.
Understands and operates under the company’s SOPs at all times.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or marketing, ideally within the AEC industry.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new systems (CRM, Procore, etc.).
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Professional presence with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel locally, with occasional overnight travel as required.
