Import and Export Compliance & Supply Chain Manager The Import and Export Compliance and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to Wells' compliance with international trade laws and regulations. This role ensures that the company’s import and export operations comply with applicable government regulations, manages internal compliance programs, provides guidance to cross-functional teams on trade compliance matters, while building and maintaining positive relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s global import and export program including compliance and regulatory policies and procedures. Monitor and ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

Develop and manage end-to-end international supply chain operations, including transportation procurement, warehousing, and distribution of imported and exported goods.

Establish and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers through direct management of annual RFPs, contract reviews, and ongoing performance management.

Maintain accurate and complete records of all import/export classifications, license determinations, and country of origin determinations.

Provide support to achieve the necessary qualifications to import or export from any international location, including conducting regularly occurring audits and assessments across all facets of regulatory and supply chain.

Collaborate with supply chain, legal, logistics, procurement, and other teams to support compliant and efficient cross-border transactions.

Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on company operations, advising leadership accordingly.

Develop training and provide guidance to team members on international logistics and compliance best practices.

Lead cross-functional projects between procurement, logistics, manufacturing, FSQA, compliance, IT, and finance teams. Act as a liaison with internal and external partners to ensure they are provided with up-to-date information and efficient and effective services supporting the ongoing needs of the business.

Responsible for assigned budget and establishment of cost controls for associated expenses. Manages the Total Cost of Ownership by collecting information, analyzing, and recommending, communicating, and executing reduction in waste.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, or related field (Master’s or JD preferred).

Certifications such as International Compliance Professionals Association (ICPA) or Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) are a plus.

5+ years of progressive experience in import/export compliance, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.

Expert knowledge of overall Import and Export processes to ensure decisions are based on being able to see the big picture of supporting company goals & objectives.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal communication.

Proven organizational and customer service skills.

Must be able to anticipate problems and develop solutions or preventive remedies.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Ability to set priorities and multi-task.

Can effectively establish links between multiple problems and select the best actions for resolution.

Ability to consider all relevant factors and implications for actions and exercise sound judgment to consistently make the best decisions.

Ability to positively influence and motivate others to increase service quality.

Reports to – Director Network Strategy & Optimization or as assigned.

Direct Reports – As assigned.

Indirect Reports – As assigned.
