Manager I, Transportation – Chick‑fil‑A Supply
Join our new Chick‑fil‑A Supply Distribution Center in Denver, Colorado to lead the execution of safe, effective, and efficient outbound transportation. As Transportation Operations Manager, you will guide nightly operations, refine outbound procedures, and lead supervisors and drivers while embodying Chick‑fil‑A’s vision and strategy.
Responsibilities
Create a culture of safety, engagement, and positivity for overnight delivery drivers Design daily scheduling for outbound transportation operations Communicate with drivers daily using effective communication strategies Work with safety leaders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., driver logs, DOT regulations) Support regulatory and internal audits of operations Evaluate operational results and communicate findings to senior Transportation and DC leadership Coordinate and communicate outbound transportation equipment needs to local vehicle maintenance teams Deliver industry‑leading on‑time delivery and customer satisfaction rates Balance the needs of the Operator with the capabilities of the operation Support Chick‑fil‑A vision and strategy Utilize and manage TMS, telematics, and proprietary delivery applications Complete other activities as deemed valuable by management Qualifications
7+ years of experience in outbound distribution operations, transportation, food distribution, and/or private fleet responsibility Strong aptitude to think critically, solve problems, drive improvements, and motivate team members in a professional and respectful manner Demonstrated functional knowledge and expertise in distribution, including outbound transportation procedures and regulations, routing, transportation equipment, and performance metrics Working knowledge of innovations in outbound transportation and equipment Knowledge of and ability to ensure compliance with general safety standards, quality specifications, and governmental requirements Ability to work a swing shift and be present to lead your team at night on the majority of working days Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and communication skills Strong ability to negotiate and resolve conflict by navigating confrontational situations to ensure all parties are treated with honor, dignity, and respect Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; experience with ERP, WMS, and TMS solutions 10+ years of leadership experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment with outbound transportation, food distribution, and private fleet responsibility Experience with private fleet operations Experience in a start‑up environment Demonstrated success in operations and people leadership Compensation
Good faith estimate of $140,000 to $150,000 for this position. Benefits
