Hydrologist Project Manager

Weston & Sampson . Weston & Sampson is seeking a Hydrologic & Hydraulic Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience in our Water Discipline, based in any of our New England offices. The role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design for projects including stream restoration, bank stabilization, dam rehabilitation, bridge and culvert replacement, climate resilience planning, and flood mitigation in complex environments involving coastal, riverine, and piped infrastructure flooding. Responsibilities:
Manage client communications regarding technical design, project schedule, budget, and scope. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams. Develop and sustain long-term client relationships to support business growth. Assist in business development, including marketing, proposals, and outreach. Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff. Oversee project design and delivery, ensuring compliance with studies, modeling, and final design requirements. Typical projects include hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for urban and rural infrastructure, floodplain management, climate resilience, and technical site assessments. Qualifications:
BSc in Civil, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or related field (required). MSc preferred. 5-10 years' experience in project management within transportation or hydrology. Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics principles and relevant software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, ICM). Experience with floodplain analysis, stormwater design, and infrastructure evaluation. Familiarity with permitting requirements across Northeast states. Project management skills including scheduling, budgeting, and scope management. Business development experience is a plus. Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred. Leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Willingness to travel; valid driver’s license required. Company Overview:
