Your Mission
We are looking for a
Technical Buyer (m/f/d)
to manage procurement and logistics for our
US operations . You will work closely with both our Global Supply Chain team in Munich to and US-based third party peripheral equipment suppliers to enable on-time, on-budget deployments of our robotics projects. This is a
6 month fully remote (in the U.S.)
contract with the potential to convert to a full time hire based on performance. This role will need to be
available from 6am Pacific - 2pm Pacific to interface with Germany.
Employees located in the Austin or San Francisco areas have the option to work from one of our offices. RobCo is a Munich based robotics-as-a-service provider with US offices in Austin and San Francisco. Material Management
Procurement of goods based on a bill of materials (BOM) from Solutions Engineering Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and implementing mitigation options when issues arise Communicate lead times and risks to project schedule to relevant stakeholders Technical Documentation and Analysis
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications for mechanical and electrical components Understanding of standards such as CE, ISO, UL, RoHS and other quality requirements Supplier Management
Rapidly request and process quotes based on a set of criteria from engineers Build and maintain relationships with suppliers across several industries Perform market analysis to identify the set of most optimal suppliers Negotiate pricing, lead times, and other supplier terms Logistics
Manage material shipments from Germany to the US and between US locations Proactively manage logistics costs by ensuring ideal pricing and policies in place Provide updates to stakeholders on status of shipments Data Management
Maintain PO and invoicing data in ERP/MRP system Schedule invoice payments Track and centrally store shipping info Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in supply chain management, logistics, business, STEM, or similar field 2-4 years of work experience in a supply chain or purchasing function at a manufacturing-focused company Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and broad management direction Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills Familiarity with technical specifications and electro-mechanical drawings Previous experience using an ERP/MRP system (ex. SAP, Ramp, Odoo) Ability to work early hours to collaborate with European colleagues and suppliers Why us?
