Operations Supervisor
located in
Austin TX . Reporting to the
Sr. Operations Manager , the
Operations Supervisor
will be responsible for effectively managing all strategic operational processes and resources and managing an organization to achieve and maintain operational excellence. Additional focus on daily inventory activities including cycle counting, data collection, implementing and reviewing processes to maintain inventory security and integrity to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum value to the company. Shift: 1st Shift 6:00a-6:00p Thurs, Fri, Sat every other Wed
Responsibilities
Supervise the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and in charge of the line’s success.
Evaluate daily/regular plant operating performance and advise on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies and quality.
Guide a team of professionals (e.g. engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery and acknowledge requirements.
Ensure compliance with standards.
Identify root cause integrity discrepancies in the WIP warehouse(s). Retrieve and research information from the Manufacturing Requirements Planning system (BAAN, etc.) and Manufacturing Execution System (FlexFlow) to remediate issues.
Liaise with other departments and senior staff to highlight errors and implement improvements as required.
Carry out direct cycle count activities in the WIP Warehouse(s), on site and coordinate count staff to maintain schedules.
Assist in development of on-site process improvements related to inventory steps and hold up for implementation.
Support and perform regular internal audits and external audit preparation (e.g. Physical Inventory) per company practices and external standards.
Produce statistical management information and KPIs measuring inventory performance and service levels.
Monitor procedural compliance; oversee implementation of new procedures with management and operations.
Liaise with internal and external customers and address requests and issues.
Provide escalation point to inventory management for unresolved issues.
Maintain metrics and produce reports (Work Order Aging, WIP Aging, Non-nettable Warehouse Aging, etc.).
Contribute to workplace safety and health improvement and environmental protection by adhering to EHS policies and participating in EHS programs.
Troubleshoot operational problems and advise on resolutions; coach operators to improve performance and capability.
Solicit and evaluate ideas for plant improvements and develop project proposals with qualified engineers.
Provide technical and operational advice to project teams.
May act as principal interface between operations and maintenance.
Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
Assist in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
Actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing the team on control points and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain
5 years experience supervising individual contributors/large teams
5 years in supervisory roles in manufacturing
5 years management and supervisory experience
Experience in inventory management
Strong computer skills; Excel, Microsoft Office
