Jesuit High School, Sacramento, is accepting applications for a Math/Science Tutor /Academic Support Center Staff for the school year, until filled.

Overview Jesuit High School’s Academic Support Center (ASC) provides additional support for students with diagnosed learning differences and/or ADHD, often in the form of the student attending a scheduled class period in the center to work on homework, study for quizzes and tests, and develop organizational skills and habits. Additionally, students on Academic Probation (who may or may not have diagnoses of learning differences or ADHD) require support and access to a tutor/mentor to help improve their subject knowledge and study skills/habits. The Tutoring Coordinator works with the other ASC staff to provide tutoring, tracking, and monitoring of student progress throughout the school day for both students enrolled in the ASC and in the Library. The Tutoring Coordinator is the primary tutor for math and science, but develops and maintains a team of qualified peer tutors for these and all other subjects as they are available. The Tutoring Coordinator will communicate with parents and teachers as needed to follow-up regarding student academic skills, trends, and assignments.

Responsibilities

Provide subject-specific support as needed, especially with strong subject knowledge in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Work with ASC staff, teachers, and student tutors including the monitoring and tracking of at-risk and struggling student progress

Work with students who have learning differences including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, executive functioning deficits, and processing speed deficits

Build relationships with students (and occasionally parents) working to provide encouragement and student accountability

Monitor/track student progress and communicate with teachers as needed

Develop and support the student peer tutors in the peer tutoring program

Supervise and maintain the space for peer tutoring as well as other small group tutoring as needed

Support students using Google Classroom, PowerSchool, and other subject-specific software/websites

Communicate with parents as needed

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Experience and/or academic coursework specific to tutoring or teaching in high school math/science courses (or equivalent)

Experience working with students with ADHD and/or LD

Position Details

Compensation range is $49,400- $62,063 (Compensation is based on education and experience and will be calculated/pro-rated based on these factors.)This position is classified as temporary, non-exempt position

This position assignment is for the school year only

August 2025 – May 2026

Shift is from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday
