Job Summary Job Title: Commercial/Industrial Piping Project Manager / Field Construction Manager Department: Commercial Construction Reports to: VP of Construction Operations

Essential Responsibilities

Manage, plan, implement and monitor construction projects to ensure HVAC and process piping systems are installed in accordance with plans and specifications.

Support field crews, coordinate with field supervisors and other PMs to maintain internal and customer schedules.

Take ownership of the project from start to finish, including the warranty period, and develop and execute a plan that meets the required schedule and budget.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously; spend at least 75% of time in the field.

Communicate regularly with project executives, notify them of issues and changes early, and keep them updated weekly.

Order, purchase and deliver miscellaneous piping materials, schedule equipment and material deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers.

Prepare shop drawings, submittals, and correspondence with customers, trades, vendors, subcontractors, engineers and architects.

Document job delays and issues, assist with change orders and progress billings, and manage special projects directly with customers.

Review weekly job cost, monitor labor and material costs, provide written explanations for cost deviations, and review installation instructions for equipment and piping.

Assist in training, recruitment, and retention of field crews, and supervise their work.

Manage site conditions and crew productivity, schedule subcontractors, and oversee safety policies.

Prepare a two‑week look‑ahead schedule, update labor loading forecasts, and verify proper installation of equipment during weekly walks.

Prepare in‑house punch lists, track rental equipment, and assist with final closeout documentation such as test and balance reports and O&M manuals.

Qualifications

Technical knowledge of HVAC hydronic piping and equipment installation.

Understanding of hot water, chilled water, condenser water, steam, steam condensate, make‑up, domestic, and geothermal piping systems.

Knowledge of piping materials and fittings (steel, ductile iron, copper, PVC, polypropylene, pre‑insulated, stainless steel) and their proper installation.
