The Service Advisor initiates automotive services and repairs by addressing customer concerns, recommending needed services and maintenance, verifying warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, selling ethically needed repairs and maintenance, and maintaining customer rapport and records. The position has a strong focus on sales and customer service and requires collaboration in a team‑focused environment to ensure the ongoing growth of the business.

Job Responsibilities

Address customer concerns by listening to descriptions of symptoms, clarifying issues, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules.

Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers and explaining provisions and exclusions.

Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor and calculating the customer’s payment, including deductibles.

Prepare repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes, obtaining approval signatures, and entering the order into the service database system.

Serve as a communication liaison between the customer and the technician.

Maintain customer rapport by explaining and prioritizing needed vehicle repairs and maintenance, managing expectations, obtaining estimation approvals, and providing contact information. Also answer questions and concerns and arrange towing and temporary transportation.

Maintain automotive records by documenting problems and corrective actions planned.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturer publications.

Enhance organization reputation by taking ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements

Previous automotive Service Advisor experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to produce high sales levels while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that affect operations.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Consent to and pass a drug and background screen.

Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.

Enthusiastic, positive attitude, ambition, strong work ethic, professional conduct, high integrity, and dedication to personal improvement.

Customer focused.

Energetic.

Self‑motivated.

Ability to work evenings until 9:00 PM and weekends as business needs dictate.

Maintain or obtain required Toyota certifications.
