Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain global trade compliance policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to international trade laws, including import/export regulations, sanctions, and customs requirements. Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify and address compliance gaps. Serve as the primary liaison with customs authorities, brokers, and freight forwarders. Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders. Manage classification of goods (HTS, ECCN), valuation, country of origin, and documentation requirements. Oversee denied party screening and ensure proper licensing and documentation for controlled goods. Provide training and guidance to internal teams on trade compliance matters. Investigate and resolve compliance violations and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with legal, supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure end-to-end compliance. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, or related field. Minimum 10+ years of experience in GLOBAL trade compliance or customs operations. Experience having direct reports. Strong knowledge of international trade regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, OFAC, CBP). Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and trade compliance software. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with ESG-related trade compliance frameworks. Preferred Skills
Experience in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, or automotive. Professional certifications (e.g., CCS, CES, CUSECO) are a plus. Seniority level
