www.dsv.com Division: Air & Sea Job Posting Title: Freight Forwarder - Ocean Export Time Type: Full Time Summary
The primary duties of a Freight Forwarder include reviewing and processing shipment transactions for major accounts, providing proactive customer service, and acting as the main contact for account contracts. Responsibilities are to be performed accurately, cost-effectively, and in accordance with company standards, exercising discretion and judgment. Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining positive relationships and monitoring service quality, establishing detailed profiles and procedures for import/export processes. Handle high-volume or complex import/export transactions, including booking, billing, classifications, data processing, and obtaining necessary government and consular releases. Verify shipments in the warehouse to match shipping documents. Process bills of lading and give clear handling instructions. Manage shipments of hazardous materials following all regulations. Create quotations, estimate prices, select transportation options, and set profit margins. Review and respond to export declaration rejections and government inquiries. Stay compliant with domestic and international shipping regulations and communicate changes effectively. Identify transactions requiring special handling, suggest process improvements, and implement resolutions. Monitor team performance, address client concerns proactively, and alert clients to potential issues. Educational Background / Work Experience
At least three years of experience involving extensive client contact. Knowledge of geography, including countries and major cities. High attention to detail and proactive issue prevention. Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Mathematical Skills
Excellent skills in calculating freight measurements, weights, and conversions. Other Skills
Geographical knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Freight Forwarding preferred. Familiarity with CargoWise One is a plus. Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Computer Literacy
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word. Physical and Mental Requirements / Working Conditions
Use of hands, reaching, stooping, talking, hearing, and vision are required. Computer and telephone use are involved.
