Commodity Manager – Metals and Mechanical
National Carwash Solutions has grown over the past 50 years to become North America’s largest equipment, service, and cleaning solutions provider in the car wash industry. We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated, and strategic Commodity Manager to join our newly formed role based in Frisco, TX. The right candidate will manage several critical commodities in the NCS spend portfolio, driving cost productivity, innovation, risk mitigation, and supply chain resiliency.
Job Summary We are looking for an individual with 5–10 years of global sourcing experience and a spend responsibility of at least $75 million. The role requires strategic leadership to deliver EBITDA growth, cost savings, and EBITDA growth through effective commodity management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks, and establish strategic supplier relationships to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
Oversee procurement of critical commodities—including metals, fabrications, fasteners, pumps, packaging, and extrusions—while negotiating and managing contracts with key suppliers.
Analyze spend data to identify cost‑reduction opportunities and pursue supply‑base optimization for superior spend leverage.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, conduct quarterly business reviews, and drive supplier development programs to enhance capabilities and support business growth.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, finance, product development, and other stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business needs; lead cross‑functional teams on sourcing initiatives and projects such as VAVE and ideation sessions.
Provide peer‑to‑peer leadership and develop team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or a technical field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Professional certifications such as CPIM, CPM, CQE, CSCP, CPSM, or CSCM.
Minimum of 5–10 years of global sourcing experience with a proven track record managing spend of at least $75 million.
Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
Experience with eRFx platforms (e.g., Ariba, Krinati) involving eRFPs and eAuctions.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi‑year commodity strategies that drive cost savings and inflation avoidance.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities with strong Excel proficiency.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software and ERP systems, including Tableau, Power BI, and NetSuite.
Ability to travel a minimum of 20% domestically and occasionally outside the U.S.
Nice‑to‑have: knowledge of procure‑to‑pay (P2P) processes and NetSuite.
