Design Store Assistant Store Manager, Operations
The Museum of Modern Art is accepting applications for an Assistant Store Manager, Operations in the Design Store who upholds MoMA’s standards and adheres to and applies Museum and Retail policies and procedures; supports a positive visitor experience. Assists the Store Manager and fellow Assistant Store Managers with all aspects of running the store, including opening and closing the store, safeguarding MoMA’s staff, visitors, and assets, attending retail management meetings, and participating in store partnership initiatives. Exhibits and upholds high customer service standards which contribute to achieving sales and metric goals. Manages, develops, and trains all store staff to deliver a knowledgeable, thoughtful, and inspiring customer service experience on the sales floor.
Responsibilities
Manages, organizes, and maximizes use of stock space.
Leads the effort to maximize store inventory flow.
Communicates with the distribution center to ensure accuracy of deliveries.
Processes all transfers and receiving.
Trains and develops the stock team.
Initiates all mini inventories, annual physical inventories, and makes recommendations to improve results and reduce loss.
Oversees min/max numbers to ensure optimal inventory replenishment levels based on visual presentation and sales.
Reviews, researches, and approves all inventory adjustments.
Serves as Operational leader for all omni-channel retail initiatives specifically BOPIS and BOSHIP. Drives strategic planning and operational excellence in line with yearly trends in both areas.
Serves as point person on all maintenance matters (housekeeping, HVAC, lighting, fire, water, etc.).
Acts as point person for all security, loss prevention, life and safety matters in partnership with MoMA and 3rd party Security.
Orders and maintains inventory of supplies.
Serves as point person on all POS and IT matters.
Visiting the Museum regularly and attending product, vendor and customer service training.
Participates in advanced education opportunities as offered and attends staff meetings.
Participates in cross-store operational projects and periodically works management shifts at other stores.
Performs other duties related to the described functions, including unpacking daily store shipments during peak season or when stock associates are unavailable.
Requirements
Minimum three to five years in retail.
Two years in stock/operations management.
Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong customer service orientation.
Organized and detail oriented with superb time management skills.
Proactive self–starter with initiative and leadership. Proficiency in POS, Word, Excel; order entry.
Salary:
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000.
