Advantech has an immediate opening within our key account sales team as an ITS Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will be driven and self-motivated, exhibiting the ability to break into new accounts and manage new projects to closure. The candidate will be required to identify and review engineering specifications, coordinate and propose product configurations, negotiate sales and service contracts, while interfacing with Department of Transportation, Municipalities, City and eco-system partners. The candidate should have experience in Public Transit (bus), Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Passenger Railway Systems, along with proven experience working with large government agencies and engineering consulting firms. Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sales objectives that align with transportation agency needs Formulate and implement strategies to grow new business in DOT and Public Transit sectors Drive the completion of State Approved Product List registrations for Advantech’s ITS products Meet or exceed sales pipeline targets and net-new customer goals Leverage advanced domain knowledge to create competitive advantages Promote Advantech products and represent the company at ITS regional conferences to generate new leads Partner with selected distributors and partners to fulfill agency purchasing requirements Build and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships across stakeholders Provide information and updates to cross-functional teams via phone, email, written reports, and in-person meetings Represent the organization to customers, the public, government agencies, and other external stakeholders through effective communication Analyze information and evaluate results to determine optimal solutions and solve problems Conduct solution days and deliver proposals in visits to transportation agencies Position Advantech as a strategic business partner within the transportation ecosystem Qualifications
Excellent communication and negotiation skills 3–5 years of sales experience with embedded, networking, or computer system-level products Experience selling to end users, integrators, and resellers in the ITS, Public Transit, and Railway industries Experience in transportation, renewable energy, or industrial markets (preferred) Strong technical understanding of computer hardware and embedded electronics Knowledge of embedded and networking systems (preferred) Self-starter with a positive attitude who works well independently and as part of a team Willingness to travel within the target territory Bachelor’s degree (preferred) Benefits
