Quality Control Inspector I (2nd & 3rd)

Duties
Assist in the execution of food safety and quality checks on the line.
Provide technical assistance to operations regarding process deviation reports and product specifications.
Identify and place product on hold that does not comply with food safety/quality or Del Real Foods specifications, including filling out QA HOLD Tags and Release Information and stating reasons.
Investigate root causes and determine disposition/corrective action under guidance of QA leaders.
Communicate deficiencies and quality opportunities to QA and Operations Management.
Promote adherence to Food Safety and Quality in the assigned area.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and employee safety requirements.
Perform basic food safety and quality inspections on the line, addressing nonessential corrective actions under QA supervision.
Use tools such as thermometers, pH meters, X‑ray, metal detectors, weighing scales, and Bostwick.
Understand basic meat processing food safety compatibility.
Report unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor or manager.
Read and understand daily forms and records to avoid errors.
Understand HACCP and report deviations to supervisor.
Knowledge of quality assurance policies and procedures such as SQF (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP).
Report incidents or compliance concerns with USDA & FDA guidelines and regulations.
Specific Skills And Abilities Required
Communication skills: verbal and written communication with QA Lead/supervisor and team members.
Self‑motivated, attention to detail, and ability to multi‑task.
Basic knowledge of HACCP and GMP requirements for USDA/FDA establishments.
Knowledge of calibration requirements for all testing equipment.
Knowledge of employee safety practices.
Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
Knowledge of company employee policies.
Flexible schedule, open availability Monday‑Friday, plus overtime and weekends if needed.
Work in hot or cold and humid environment.
Education: High School/G.E.D; some food industry experience preferred.
Bilingual language skills highly desired.
