Purpose and Scope
Ensure mechanical parts meet company, customer and quality requirements and standards.
Identify non-conformities early to prevent costly errors and report issues to MRB if required.
Gage calibration maintenance when needed.
First article and AQL inspection on a daily basis.
Support continuous improvement in service quality.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing
Perform checks using measuring tools (calipers, gauges, Keyence, IM, XM etc.).
Verify dimensions, surface finish, and tolerances as required by drawings.
Documentation & Reporting
Record inspection results accurately.
Maintain inspection checklists, logs and quality reports.
Report non-conformances.
Compliance
Ensure products comply with ISO or industry-specific standards.
Follow quality control procedures.
Problem Solving
Work with vendors to identify root causes of defects.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement
Suggest process improvements to reduce defects.
Support internal audits and quality management system activities.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills: Familiarity with inspection equipment, reading engineering drawings/blueprints, GD&T knowledge.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot small defects.
Analytical Thinking: Understanding quality data, identifying trends.
Communication: Clear reporting to supervisor.
Certifications (optional but valuable)
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt
ISO 9001 Training
