for our client in
Herndon, VA.

Position Overview
Seeking a highly skilled Service Desk Engineer (Tier 3) to support the internal IT operations and ensure a smooth transition during an upcoming paternity leave.
The selected consultant will shadow the current Service Desk Technician to learn the environment, processes, and tools, then assume full responsibilities.
This position requires excellent technical acumen, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier 3 service desk support for end users, ensuring timely resolution of escalated incidents and requests.
Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including user management, licensing, and troubleshooting.
Support and maintain Active Directory hybrid environments, including group policies, user provisioning, and access control.
Utilize MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) for imaging and deployment of endpoints.
Collaborate with IT teams to document and improve operational procedures using Jira and Confluence.
Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor while assisting users onsite.
Shadow the current service desk technician to ensure full operational readiness prior to February coverage.
Preferred: Leverage Tanium for endpoint management, patching, and compliance monitoring.
Required Qualifications
3-5 years of Service Desk / IT Support experience (Tier 3 level).
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory (Hybrid).
Experience supporting Windows OS and end-user hardware / software environments.
Familiarity with MDT imaging processes.
Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service and technical support.
Ability to work onsite the majority of the time.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with Tanium or similar endpoint management tools.
Prior experience in enterprise or hybrid IT environments.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent.
Pay Rate $32 - $35 / Hour
