Position Title:
Merchandise Allocator Responsibilities
Identify emerging sales trends and market shifts to proactively adjust inventory strategies. Leverage post-performance data to refine future forecasting accuracy and planning. Prioritize high-demand stores and markets to optimize product availability and maximize sales. Adjust allocations dynamically based on in-season sales performance and external factors (e.g., promotions, local events, weather). Work closely with distribution centers to ensure smooth product delivery and merchandising processes. Allocate stock based on sales forecasts, inventory turnover, store priorities, and seasonal trends. Monitor stock levels across all locations to prevent overstocking and stockouts. Identify replenishment opportunities based on stock performance and demand patterns. Key item ladder planning to avoid stock outs and maximize sales. Partner with marketing teams to align inventory levels with promotional campaigns and product launches. Act as a liaison between the buying team, distribution center, and other teams to ensure the efficient flow of goods. Work with the buying team to align inventory decisions with product selection and availability. Implement key item bulletins to improve store planning and speed to floor. Develop and maintain KPIs to assess inventory efficiency and sales impact. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to improve stock utilization and profitability. Develop pre-season strategies to assist in planning, clustering and implementation. Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, supply chain management, merchandise planning or a related field (preferred). Previous experience in retail merchandising, allocation, or inventory management (1-3 years preferred). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends. Proficiency in inventory management software, Excel, and other data analysis tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of retail operations and supply chain processes. Preferred Skills
Experience with retail management systems or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Understanding of demand forecasting and replenishment strategies. Work Environment
Office-based with occasional travel to stores or distribution centers. Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines during peak seasons. Seniority level
