Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, gas and diesel engine repair, and the ability to work with various types of machinery. This role involves maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. The Fleet Mechanic will also be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and fabricating parts as needed.
Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on fleet vehicles and equipment. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations. Repair both gas and diesel engines and other mechanical systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Fabricate parts or components as necessary to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Utilize schematics to understand complex systems and make informed repairs. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle. Work collaboratively with other mechanics to ensure timely completion of repairs. Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or on-site.
Experience Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a field or fleet environment. Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery is a plus. Experience with HVAC systems. Proficiency in welding techniques for fabrication tasks. Knowledge of farm machinery repair is advantageous. Strong understanding of automotive repair principles and practices. Ability to read and interpret schematics related to vehicle systems. Proficiant in vehicle diagnostics. Reefer experience is a plus. Ability to work on compressors. Proficient in vehicle electrical diagnostics and repair.
All mechanics are required to supply their own automotive and specialty tools with the exception of diagnostic scanners.
