We are seeking an experienced Water & Wastewater Facilities Team Lead to join our Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate will have 15 or more years of experience in planning, designing, and managing municipal water and wastewater treatment projects and will lead the Facilities Team in securing and delivering projects, including plant expansions, process improvements, pump stations, and lift stations. This position reports directly to the Water Business Practice Lead/Vice President.

Primary Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Water Practice Lead to develop, maintain, and implement strategic, business development, and operational plans for the Facilities Team.

Set goals, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes to align with firm objectives.

Manage staff responsible for feasibility studies, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water projects.

Oversee hiring, mentoring, and direction of team members.

Assign and prioritize projects to ensure schedules are met.

Ensure portfolio of projects stays within budget.

Implement quality management processes.

Support the team in resolving complex challenges.

Serve as a technical resource for complex project deliverables.

Identify and mitigate risk management issues.

Function as a project manager for complex projects.

Build and nurture relationships with state regulatory authorities.

Review and approve proposals and contracts for scope, fee, and quality.

Develop strong relationships with current and prospective clients, including municipalities, River Authorities, and local agencies.

Participate in proposal writing and contract review processes.

Requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.

15+ years of civil engineering experience focused on water and wastewater treatment and facilities engineering.

Demonstrated success in leading large‑scale projects for municipalities and public agencies.

Extensive experience in management, supervision, and leadership.

Work Environment The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job.
