Director of Software Quality Assurance

Overview The Director of Quality Assurance (QA) is a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s quality vision. This role oversees all QA and Change Control (CC) functions, ensuring that products and services meet rigorous internal standards and external regulatory requirements. The Director champions a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence while leading a high‑performing team of QA professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Define and promote a company‑wide quality mindset aligned with business goals.
Develop, implement and maintain QA policies, procedures, and standards.
Set and track quality assurance goals and KPIs.
Lead and mentor QA team, including analysts, managers, and automation engineers.
Oversee QA and CC processes, ensuring timely delivery of test strategies, plans, and reports.
Manage test documentation for UI, functional, regression, accessibility, and ad‑hoc testing.
Coordinate with DevOps and TechOps to ensure environment continuity.
Analyze quality data to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
Lead root cause analysis and preventive initiatives.
Identify and elevate risk factors to the Risk Management Committee.
Ensure compliance with internal, external, and regulatory standards.
Maintain and evolve a robust automation testing program.
Leverage modern QA tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Xray, JMeter).
Stay ahead of industry trends in QA methodologies and technologies.
Partner with Product Managers and SCRUM teams to define testable requirements.
Support Incident Management and customer issue resolution.
Contribute to documentation, training, and knowledge sharing across departments.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent education and work experience may also be considered.
Certifications (e.g., CMQ/OE, CQE) preferred.
7+ years in software QA roles, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
Proven experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare).
