Hours: 6:00PM - 6:00AM Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing management, guidance, and direction to production staff while overseeing operations that occur during the assigned shift. In this role, you will also be responsible for ensuring the production schedule is achieved at expected costs, while meeting standards for safety and quality. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Manage the Production Schedule Identifies and secures necessary resources (people, materials, etc.) Schedule and assign work to staff; managing and adjusting priorities Manage direct labor, materials, and other related costs to budget Monitor production process and progress in terms of meeting production goals; trouble-shooting problems as necessary Ensure proper functioning of equipment by coordinating with maintenance and other departments as needed Coordinate with incoming/outgoing shift leader and other staff as needed to ensure a smooth transition between shifts Provide People Leadership
Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff as needed Provide ongoing training and development of staff members on the shift Foster a positive work environment through open and ongoing communications and an atmosphere of teamwork for staff Provide performance feedback to staff; recognizes good performance through multiple means; including coaching, counseling or progressive discipline as needed Resolve work and interpersonal conflicts as needed Establish an environment that motivates and engages the staff to achieve desired results Ensure Compliant Operations
Ensure a safe work environment by operating within and enforcing organization standards; ensures staff follows all safety policies and procedures Maintain clean work areas consistent with GMP guidelines Maintain quality production by operating within and enforcing organization standards Maintain a continuous improvement atmosphere; identify & recommend ways to streamline processes, reduce waste or enhance production Reporting and Record-keeping
Ensure that all production hours are entered in SAP for each line on each shift Ensure work hours are accurately reported and maintained in the time-keeping system Ensure that all quality checks are completed for each line during each shift Send out required shift update once information is entered at the end of their shift Handle other special projects and initiatives related to the management of the shift as needed and as assigned Prior leadership or supervisory experience Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledgeable of and/or trained in all major safety related activities (Lock Out/Tag Out, Behavior Based Safety, Incident Investigation, etc.) Knowledgeable of and/or trained in all major quality related activities (Statistical Process Control, etc.) Results oriented; high level of personal initiative, energy, and ownership for success. Associate degree in business, or technical discipline preferred Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred but not required Experience with process improvement initiatives & Kaizen events. 5+ years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in high volume, fast paced work environment with a biased towards action. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with all employees through senior leadership level. Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and best practices; familiarization with SAP Experience with implementing and maintaining Lead Manufacturing (5S, Waste Reduction) Skilled in Problem-solving & Troubleshooting (A3, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis) Bilingual Spanish a plus Summary
